Tranby Hosts Successful Careers and Pathways Expo

HELPING SHAPE THE FUTURE OF OUR STUDENTS

The Senior School Administration Building was abuzz on Tuesday evening, 21st June,  when the College hosted its first ever Careers and Pathways Expo. Featuring exhibitors from Perth’s Universities, various Vocational Education Training partners,  a variety of trades education and training organisations, as well as industry, there was plenty on offer for our Year 10, 11 and 12 families to discover.

Speaking at the event, Mr Britza, Director of Learning and Innovation explained that the objective of the Expo was to support students in discovering and deciding their future pathways.  He encouraged families to be open when exploring the possibilities available, and if unsure, to take the opportunity to meet with our Careers Counsellor, Alyson Cooper from Bridging the Gap.

Reflecting on conversations had with parents and students during the evening, Mr Bolton, Head of Senior School, said, “It has been good to see our students enjoying themselves and being surprised by what they’ve discovered. Making decisions about their futures can sometimes feel like a chore, and for some students, they can have tunnel vision around what they want to do. In this setting, they’ve had the chance to meet passionate and knowledgeable people, ask any question they want to and they have been exposed to opportunities they may not have considered.” Mr Bolton believes the evening proved to be a great success.
