Grand Piano Competition

At the end of Term 2, Tranby College entered a competition called 'Grab the Goanna' run by ABC Classic FM radio station to win a grand piano for the College. The competition was open to all schools Australia-wide and required us to tell the promoters why we felt we needed a grand piano. We decided to make a video for our entry. The students involved put in a huge amount of effort and while we did not win the prize they must be commended on their commitment and enthusiasm. The students from the Year 4-6 Choir, Senior School Choir and some instrumentalists all gave up their lunch-times to rehearse and came to school early on the day that we filmed our video. The students had one week to learn the song and film it. Students in Year 2 also got involved by drawing pictures of grand pianos in their art class with Ms King. Five artworks were selected and photographed and were submitted as part of our entry.
