Beauty and the Beast Jnr
"Once upon a time in a faraway land, an enchantress turns a cruel, unfeeling prince into a hideous beast."
On Wednesday 29 th July, teachers, backstage crew and a cast of 90 students all gathered at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre for the production of 'Beauty and the Beast Jr'. This was the tech rehearsal and the moment everyone involved had been waiting for. Since the start of work on the production in February we would finally see the entire show come together with added lighting, sets, costumes and on a brand new stage. The following day emotions ran high at the dress rehearsal as we realised it would be the last time that the production was performed without an audience. Friday 31 st July, show day! We would be performing a matinee show for local schools and an evening performance for family, friends, and anyone who wished to come. After a frantic morning of makeup and costumes the show ended to the sound of cheers and applause. On Saturday 1 st August we performed the final show to another lively and appreciative audience, with some people there for a second time. With all three performances finished and the final curtain down. Everyone felt a mixture of happiness and sadness as we realised it was the end. One behalf of all the students who performed we would like to thank all the those who helped make 'Beauty and the Beast Jr' such a resounding success.
We will never forget the joy of Tranby's 'Beauty and the Beast Jr'.
Thanks for the memories...
