COLLEGE CHAPLAIN

We are seeking applications from a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Chaplain to join the staff at Tranby College.

The Position

Either full time or part time is possible

  • Available from the start of 2010 but a later start is possible
  • Will not involve teaching, although, if the person appointed is a qualified teacher and wanted to teach, that would be possible
  • Salary and conditions will reflect the Tranby College EBA for teaching staff

The Role

The Chaplain will be responsible to the Principal and will work within the ethos and values of the College to:

1. Contribute to the development of a faith community in the College by running services for staff and students, e.g. weekly chapel services, special services e.g. at the beginning and end of the year and on specific occasions such as Easter and Advent.

2. Contribute to the spiritual development of students by being a resource for teachers as they plan and deliver Religious and Values Education in the Junior School and Studies of Religion and Philosophy in the Secondary School.

3. Be a source of pastoral support for staff, students and parents by becoming known in the school community as a result of active involvement in assemblies, camps, co-curricular activities, special events and parent functions.

4. Offer individual support to students, staff and parents.

5. Play a pivotal role in the ongoing development of the relationship between Tranby and those in its neighbourhood.
