Tranby Emergency Service Cadets Corp

The Emergency Services Cadet Corps at Tranby is challenging, diverse and rewarding. Cadets gain valuable skills and become an active citizen in the community.
As an Emergency Services Cadet you learn about the diverse nature of Western Australia's emergency services and help promote public awareness in the management of emergencies at the State, regional and local level. Emergency Service Cadets undertake core training modules and support these with an extensive range of electives. Cadets at Tranby is offered to students from Years 7-12.

Core modules include:
• first aid and emergency care
• radio communication
• fire safety and basic fire fighting
• search and rescue techniques
• boating and water safety
• map reading and navigation
• field craft and camping
• leadership and instructional training.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is the host organisation of the Emergency Service Cadet programme and units work closely with the Fire and Rescue Service, State Emergency Service, Bush Fire Service and Volunteer Marine Rescue Services.
